Summary:
Healthy Communities is a partnership between San Luis Obispo public health, city planning, and community volunteers to improve the health and wellness of county residents through collaboration, education, and policy guidance as it relates to health and the built environment. The group links health with city planning decisions by providing input into development plans to ensure communities are built to provide environments that are conducive to healthy behaviors such as safe walking open space, walk-friendly streets, and access to stores that offer healthy food choices.
