Project Description

Organization:
California Health Care Foundation

Summary:
California Health Data Project: The plan proposes to expand a pilot developed by the California Health Care Foundation to build a long-term, sustainable, open data program that encourages local communities to leverage available data on California’s Health and Human Service Agency (CHHS) Open Data Portal. The expansion would extend collaboration to ten communities across California eager to make use of data from the state for local benefit. An ambassador in each of these communities would receive a monthly stipend, money to convene and code (e.g. through code-a-thons), and seed funding to build open source products that are oriented toward community needs.
