Summary:
Toxic chemicals are environmental threats that can be harmful, especially to children. California Safe Schools (CSS) implemented a pest control approach in Los Angeles Unified School District that uses regular monitoring to determine if and when treatments are needed. Success of this innovation led to the signing of California Assembly Bill 405 (Montanez) which bans experimental pesticides used in California K-12 public schools. Today, this bill is embraced in many school districts and communities and to keeping children safe from pesticides.
